Here are some tutorials on how to do messy buns.
You don't have to do the zig zag part.
Notice that my Wednesday at 3pm class has the messy buns really high on the head. My Thursday at 4pm class will have them really low on the head so they sit behind the girls ears. This picture shows high messy buns, the kind I want for my Wednesday at 3pm class. 
This picture shows messy buns a little lower.
I would like them either here
or a bit lower for my Thursday at 4pm class.
No higher than this please.
