Change in Location

Hey Everyone,
Just wanted to let you know that the Christmas Performance will be held in the auditorium of the high school this year instead of out in the commons area.  I will be out in the hall to meet you all and take the girls back stage. Thanks

Christmas Performance Information


CHRISTMAS PERFORMANCE

When:  This Saturday the 15th at Noon
Where: Bear River High School
Please arrive NO LATER than 11:30.  We will be in the dancer waiting area which is to the right of the stage if you are facing the stage.  They will have it blocked off by petitions.
I like to run each team through the dances, but if people are late we won't get that chance.
Makeup:  Cheeks (blush) and lips are a must. All else is up to you.
Hair:
11 am  and 4pm - Curly Ponytail. If hair is short, just wear it down and curly. Hairpiece on left side.
5pm - 1/2 pulled up, curly.  Headband
6pm - messy bun behind left ear.  If hair is short, wear is down and curly or in regular style.
**Please have your name on everything, including your shoes.
It is really easy to get things mixed up.

DECEMBER NEWSLETTER


DECEMBER
Christmas Performance - December 15th at 12 pm at the Bear River High School.  You will need to arrive at 11:30.  I will give out a sheet with details about hair, makeup, what to bring, etc. next week.

Donations - don't forget your pj's, books, or paper pajamas are due to Emily by the 15th.

Class - Last day of class for December is the 17TH (MONDAY) OR 20tTH (THURSDAY).  We will start up again on January 7th (Monday) or 10th (Thursday) - Tuition will be due that day for January.

Lagoon

On the right side bar of the blog you will see a survey I am taking of parents to see what feelings are about the Lagoon Competition.  First of all - PLEASE STUDENTS DON"T VOTE, LET YOUR PARENTS.
Here are some things to think about:

I have always loved to go to this competition, however, this year I am informed that on top of competition fees to compete, you will need to pay $10.00 a person to walk on to the park.  I know a lot of you use the discount ride tickets at this time. Still, this is still cheap compared to how much we spend going to sporting events for our kids and compared to Jazz which costs 3 times the amount as clogging to register.  I am pretty torn about what to do, so I would like your opinions.  There are other competitions we could go to.  The Pocatello one is ran by my old clogging teacher, but is only 2 weeks after Thanksgiving Point.  There is one in Salt Lake that I have taken older teams to in the past.  It is held at the end of April.  So parents, cast your vote, I would love to hear.

Costumes

I will be putting the final order for costumes in on Friday.  All money is due by then or you will need to pay the shipping it takes to get your costume here.  I am sending out emails today as well as letters in the mail about the costumes. Most of you have paid your $40.00 deposit, but the remaining balance is what is now due (remember I said it would be due the first week of November :) )  They all look really cute and I can't wait to have them finished and try them on.

This is for the 6pm class.  WARNING: Toe quads should not be done in brand new shoes and really are only recommended for those who have split sole shoes.  I have tore all the ligaments in my ankle twice doing toe quads so they really need to be in the right shoes and done just as the video says. :)

So the dance recital is this week.  It will be on Thurs. the 24th at 6pm at the Honeyville Church.  Please have your child there, dressed and ready at 5:15pm.  Parents can not go into the gym until 10 minutes to 6.   We will be running each team through their dances.  You are welcome to drop them off and come back, or wait in the foyer.  It should be a fun night.  
Instead of assigning hairstyles to everyone**, you know how to do hair cute and have some makeup on for a performance. They all looked adorable for pictures.  

**There are two teams that will need to do hair the same, just because of hair pieces.  The Juniors (anna, tori, cambry, abby, kenzie, brekklyn, tiffany) they need some sort of messy bun to wrap the feather thing around.   Also, Julie and Jenna, do the bun on the right side.

Hey Everyone, It is Lagoon time again. I can't wait. What a crazy, but fun day we have ahead. A few things. Please read everything so you know what is going on :) Competitor/Immediate family passes - These give you free entrance to the park. I will have these available to pick up on Thursday at dance. These passes must be taken to the ticket window where they will ask you if this is for dancers and you say yes. They will then give you a free ticket to get through the turnstiles. Lines can be long so plan accordingly. Spectator Passes - Only your dancer and members of your immediate family can get in free. All others will need to buy a spectator walk- on pass for $11.00. Those tickets are also attached to this email so you can print how many ever you want. Spectator passes can be purchased online just like the discount ride passes. Discount Parking Tickets - These will also be available to pick up on Thursday. Discount Ride Passes - You will need to open the attachment to this file and print off how ever many you need. The discounted ticket price is $30.95 this year. NEW THIS YEAR - You can actually purchase your discount ride tickets online and avoid the lines to get in. Buy your tickets online first and walk right up to the turnstiles! - go to www.lagoonpark.com/tickets - enter the promo code "DANCE" - Buy your tickets online and you are good to go. Simply take your ticket to the turnstiles and avoid all lines! You can only do discount ride passes and spectator passes online, not free entrance passes. Now the good stuff. We will be wearing the fluorescent socks I bought for you. If you have lost them, go to walmart in the girls section and buy a new pack. The socks should match your top. March Newsletter

Thanksgiving Point was so much fun!!! This week in class we will be handing out ribbons for their team dances. Those teams that won an overall trophy will be getting their picture taken for the paper. I am so proud of all the kids.

2pm and 3:45pm class - tuition is just the same this month, even though we missed a class, since there are 5 weeks in March it works out. 2pm missed due to science fair and 345 missed due to power outage.


6pm class - you all owe $9.00 for your hair flowers. It will be on your statement this month.

The 2pm class will be doing their fairy tale class this week. This time it is snow white. Feel free to have your child wear yellow, red, blue, or white. I have blue tutu's for each girl.

Put on your calenders May 12. That is the day of the Lagoon Competition. ( THIS NEXT PART IS NOT DEFINITE YET) I would like to do the recital the following Friday on May 18th. The last day of class would be the 17th. I will let you know if I can get the church for that day.

January Newsletter

I was so excited to get started again. There are just a few things for this month.

* If you get more than two months behind in your payments, your child will not be allowed to continue taking till you are current.
* THE BLOGG IS FINALLY UP AND RUNNING. I will post a few times a month the videos for each class. You will also be able to find information on there about upcoming events.
* The 4:30 class will have a charge this month for the socks they were given at the Christmas performance.
* The 6pm class will have a charge for tights (except for those who already ordered with the first order)
* The 6:45 class - they did not have the sized we needed for the tops so I am still looking. When I find them you will be charged.
* Some kids in my older classes are in need of private lessons. An email will be sent to you if your child needs that. The blogg is also a great, FREE way to practice what is being taught.

UPCOMING EVENTS
* The Thanksgiving point competition is just around the corner. The event will be held March 3rd at Thanksgiving Point so mark your calendars.(Keep in mind that championship and pro levels are on Friday night) There is a $14.00 entry fee for each dance your child participates in. All teams just perform 1 dance at this competition. I will be calling to see if your child is doing solos. The entry fees are due by Feb 11th so THEY WILL APPEAR ON YOUR NEXT MONTHS STATEMENTS AND ARE DUE BY THE 10TH. Otherwise the fee goes up after that to $18.00.
Here is a tentative schedule. THIS COULD CHANGE AFTER REGISTRATION, THE COMPLETE SCHEDULE DOES NOT COME OUT TILL THE WEEK BEFORE AND HAS BEEN KNOWN TO CHANGE A LOT.
