Information about purchasing tickets

This email has attachments. One is your Lagoon Ticket sheet. You can print as many of these as you need.  Attached is also a discount ticket for parking that you can print. These sheets are also on the blog.   However, only your dancer is allowed to use a competetor free pass to get into Lagoon. 

***YOU CAN NOT EXCHANGE YOUR DANCER TICKETS ONLINE.  THE FREE WALK ON TICKET HAS TO BE TAKEN TO THE WINDOWS AND EXHANGED. 

Two ways to buy tickets

 

1.  Buy online –   Buy your tickets online first and walk right up to the turnstiles! NO waiting to get into the park! No waiting at the ticket windows. Go directly into the park!

This Saturday, the 7^th, is Thanksgiving Point Clogging Competition.

It is one of my favorite competitions to go to.  It is held in the Red Barn at Thanksgving Point.  It literally is a Red Barn, you can’t miss it.  Once inside you look for someone from your team or for me.  It is not that big of a place, you will be able to find someone.

You need to arrive 1 hour before your performance time dressed and ready to dance (arrival times are in red on your schedule).  If you have family members coming to watch I would suggest they arrive an hour early as well.  The past two years we have danced ahead of schedule.  That is why I have you ready an hour early. If you dance more than once I have listed you with two arrival times.

If you would like to film your child's dance, feel free to come at the end of class time and I will film it for you.  Lots of students have been putting the dances on their ipods so they can practice wherever they are.  I am more than happy to film anything that would help you.

THANKSGIVING POINT CLOGGING COMPETITION

* You will get more details the week before the competition but here are three important things to remember

    1.  The competition is on March 7th at Thanksgiving Point.  

    2.  Fees are due by Feb 12th.  If you pay later than that day the fees go up to $17.00.  I can't change that, that is what they charge me so be sure to pay on time. 

    3.  I will not know your child's dance time until the week before.  They do not give them to me until then!!!! The competition starts at 8:30 am and runs all day  (It starts with the lowest level (aka my little girl teams)  in the morning)

*Lagoon is on May 2nd this year.  Competition fees will show up on your April statement.

*My oldest team will be going to Springfest on April 19th.  Those fees will show up in March.

This is an amazing benefit performance that we have tried to participate in every year.

Share a Little Christmas

Share a Little Christmas Benefit Concert and Charity will be held at Alice C Harris Intermediate School, 515 n 800 w (by the Fairgrounds) in Tremonton on Saturday, Dec. 20th. There will be entertainment from local groups from 9:15 am to 1:00 pm. Our group will be performing at 9:15 am please be arrive at 8:30 am dressed and ready to dance.

As part of the Charity we will be collecting new Pajamas and books to donate to the New Hope Crisis Center (the Women’s Shelter) in Brigham City. Please bring all books and pajamas that you are going to donate to dance class before the 20^th so Emily can sort them by sizes and have them ready to turn in.  You do not have to donate, this is just if you would like to. There is a box in the studio.

Santa will be there and pictures with him will be posted on www.tanglewood-studio.com for you to download. If you want a picture with Santa, please bring a can of food to donate to the Tremonton Food Pantry.

Your child will be given their paper pajamas the first week of December.  We are asking each dancer to do 4 if they can.  Each Paper pajama is worth $1.00.  When you child collects a dollar donation, they write the name of the person donating and return it to the studio.  We hang them on the wall during the month of December.  All money is taken to the performance on the 20^th.  

If you are wanting to donate more money (not just paper pajamas) you can make a payment at the performance.  There will also be a BAKE SALE.  All money donated will be going to the Nathan and Kathy Taylor family from BR City. This young mother of 6 is battling cancer and recently lost their prematurely born baby.

 PLEASE invite as many people as you can! We would love to SHARE our talents with as many as possible!

 

*There will be no dance for the two weeks we are off of school in December.  We will resume dance on Tuesday, Jan 6 and Thursday Jan 8.

If anyone is interested, I have two pair of white lace-up clogging shoes that my daughter has outgrown, sizes 3 ½ & I think size 2 (the size print has worn off). 

$30 for the size 3 ½  (bought new in February 2013, and used only until the end of clogging in May 2013, outgrown by August 2013, and have been sitting in a box since then). 

$20 for the size 2 (a little more worn but still very good)

Cost this year is $25/month.  Discount for families is available.

Registration Fee:  $10.00 per student  (this fee helps with buying new supplies for the studio each year)

I apologize, there were a few things unclear on the mailer I sent out.  Your child does not need a white and a black pair of shoes.  The younger two classes on Tuesday are black, everyone else on Thursday is white.  I still rent out black shoes so call me if you need a pair. It is $15.00 a year.

Class times were crazy on that mailer.  :)  Classes will start at 4pm on both Tuesday and Thursday.  Here are the correct times:

4 to 4:45 – Tiny Tots (5-6 year olds)

4:45 to 5:30 – Mini Miss (6-7 year olds)

Hair - Messy Bun on back of your head, high not low.   If you need me to show you how to do this give me a call.  There is a post on this blogg labeled "Messy Buns"  Take and look and see if it helps. I will glitter your childs hair if you don't
Costume - Blue pants, Pink undershirt, Sequin Shirt, nylons (I know we are wearing pants, but these help our feet and legs all look the same, clogging shoes, flower for hair. (PLEASE LABEL EVERYTHING, ESPECIALLY SHOES)
Makeup - You know how to do performance make up.  I will have a glitter for your eyes.

This is for my Thursday 4pm class. If they do it perfect next week they get a candy bar.

Statements were all emailed out today - Wednesday April 9th.

LAGOON COMPETITION FEES ARE DUE THIS WEEK. FOR THE WEDNESDAY CLASS THAT IS  APRIL 9. FOR THE THURSDAY CLASS THAT IS APRIL 10.  AFTER THAT DATE THE FEES GO UP TO $18 A DANCE. 

Here is the schedule for the rest of the dance year. With dance recital, pictures, competition and class in May, it will be full tuition.

I am still working out the Lagoon date.  Here is the issue.  As stated in last months email, I have two teams that did not qualify for Lagoon.  They are competing this weekend to try for a first place.  If they don't we will have to compete on May 3rd.  I apologize for this change in date, but this hasn't happened before.  The other problem I am having is there are 4 people who have told me in the last two weeks they can't come on the 3rd.  There are 5 that have said they can't on the 10th.  Since clogging is a team sport I might just have to pick the weekend the most people can go anyway. That being said I am leaning towards going on the 3rd. I will let you know by Saturday which day we are going. I really am sincerely trying to do what is best for the students.
